Four Corners (Australia) has asked a question every Australian should be asking:
Can we trust the labels on the food we buy? But there is another question.
Even when the label is technically correct, what is actually in the food? Where was it grown? What was the soil capable of supplying?
Was the plant able to take up the minerals it needed or was it simply pushed to size, colour and shelf life?
By the time food reaches the supermarket, it may have passed through growers, processors, importers, blenders, packers and marketers. The packet can make almost any promise. It cannot put nutrition back into food after harvest.
This is why Earthfood exists. We start before the label.
Back in the soil, where plants either gain access to minerals through living biological processes or grow without them.
Healthy-looking food is not automatically nourishing food. A polished label is not proof of integrity.
And “Australian packed” does not necessarily tell you where the ingredients came from, how they were grown or what they contain.

Was this food grown in soil capable of feeding it?
